In times of protest and social upheaval (and social rejuvenation) artists and activists turn to collage to make their point.
The University of New Brunswick Art Centre and Creative Writing/Writer in residence program are organizing a display of Cut/Paste/Resistance collages at the UNB Student Union Building from February 10-12 2020. They have put out an open call for collages about the theme of Resistance. All pieces are welcome – see link below for submission details.
Join local collage artist Kristina Corre in a drop-in style workshop to create collages of resistance, with the option to submit to the UNB show. Supplies will be provided, and G101 will take care of mailing works to UNB.
G101 is not directly affiliated with the show, but in light of the overwhelming state of global and environmental affairs, we believe collective art making is a good way to funnel energies and support each other.
G101 is an anti-oppressive, physically accessible space. We honour and respect the original people of the territory we currently occupy: unceded and unsurrendered Anishnaabe-Aki who have been living and working on this land since time immemorial.
